Common uses

This medicine is a corticosteroid in a dental paste used to relieve irritation, pain, and redness of the mouth or gums.

Before using

INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions or allergies.

Directions

Use this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. IF POSSIBLE CLEAN AND RINSE YOUR MOUTH before applying this medicine. GENTLY DAB the medicine onto the lesion until the paste forms a thin layer that sticks to the affected area. DO NOT RUB. Apply this medicine after meals. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light. Keep the container tightly closed. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, apply it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.

Cautions

IF YOUR SYMPTOMS DO NOT IMPROVE within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for future mouth problems without checking with your doctor. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.

Possible side effects

A SIDE EFFECT that may go away during treatment is burning. If it continues or is bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if irritation, redness, or swelling increase after you begin using the medicine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

If you take too much

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
